Icelandic delicate meals

Part 2.
WATER
naja that is feeds not in such a way now however for it in vain:
Thus Iceland may be coldly and inhospitably unfruchtbar and ohmne oil however the wealth of this country lies in the water
this picture shows the rivers and lakes of Iceland. that-red does not need to disturb you, that is only from the lecture
thus a heap water. The first water the it you present can. if I the rivers see and the wasserfälle then wars I each time to thirst. then there also still those are Get, which cover 11% of the country again insanity mix.
and still the ocean.
One can drink the water from the lines, is however not necessarily always the very best. but point zweiist the warm water. which one must pump “only” from the soil. With approx. 86°C it flows then after reykjavik and permits it hot pots in the winter outside on a temperature from 41°C to to keep, or as here equivalent umdie hits a corner, the sidewalk to heat
the problem is that the water contains much H2S depending on where one in reykjavik is and with us is it already glaringly which one for a smell with rinses there against-struck. also the pH value is quite highly, like that around the 10, which is not dangerous now, but believes I not skin preserving and it feels very seifig. thus in-entire result: A benediction, and on sulfur I stand anyway.
now however
so, now finally.
I begin with the last weekend. with my course “geochemical analysis” and two very motivated scientists are we driven off around two topic-order too investigate once wanted we the mixing proportion of groundwater with geothermalen wässern to examine. this in geysir, where a PAPER with analyses exists of course, this is however quite old. In addition we take not only the temperature, but also the content the most important volatile (CO2 and H2S) and the anions and cations, which we however only in run the term will determine. We thus on Friday with nem heap of stuff drove off, only a small stop with Nesjavellir, one of the power stations for Reykjavik made and have with one come there which gas of water phase separate rehearse directly from the borehole taken. The borehole had a depth of approx. 2km the water a pressure of 12bar, which causes a boiling temperature of approx. 200°C. one really notices thus here which for an energy in it puts there. then geschwind few rehearse taken, naturally cooled, so that the volume in the bottle does not shrink, and the negative pressure gasses from the water would float.
and in the evening then still one titrated.
the CO2 + H2S with one back acid cousin titration and the H2S with HgAc wenns interests.
on the next day then the whole somewhat longer in geysir, genuinly madly at this prestige place so scientifically, before all the H2S titration rumzuposen must one locally make and makes already which ago if one multicolored liquids has
then after 7 grant rehearse-take in cold weather titrate tititrieren…. we had 16 to rehearse and had for each for 2mal the two ttrationen to make. 8 hours concentrated work we used and the result were genuinly ok. only zw. 1-3 ppm deviations between two measurements.

sorry
but I must put off you times again, because I write still Icelandic examination tomorrow and mean aufsatz+ a take home exam make must am I degrees somewhat gestresst. to the comfort only one picture from the weekend with and until tomorrow press me the thumbs rehearse-collect!
only briefly

I in two will grant to next exkursion to break open over in geysir to rehearse to collect which we in Geochemical analysis around the results the Geological Society OF Iceland will then present (my first publication)
It becomes very arduous and very cold. here imagine from Reykjavík of Tuesday:
but I be pleased drauf. this week has I first time the feeling had I became a cold wars, has I however überwunden.puh!
looks calmly times on blog from my Brüderchen the Maxico, then see to her times the opposite of cold. On Monday gibts then delicate-eat new pictures and a new Icelandic one: Whale or water, which of both white I not yet. here I am again goodbye at the Atlantic and!
